Congratulations to Abdul

Abdul went snorkeling for the first time when he was 8 years old and loved it. He did his first dive when he was 25. He became a divemaster in 2010 and today he has become a PADI Scuba Instructor.
Congratulations to Abdul.
Abdul started working with Ocean Dimensions as a PADI divemaster in 2017 when we opened our dive center here at Kihaa Maldives. He is the core of the team. His home is on the neighbouring island of Kihaadhoo so he knows this region pretty well. The new and the “old” instructors often turn to Abdul to ask him for advise on the ocean’s conditions and choosing the right dive site. He almost has a sixths sense when it comes to predicting the best spots to see mantas or sharks. He also has an expert eye for the critters. When you follow him closely he will find for you octopus, stone fish, mantis shrimp and with some extra luck leaf fish and ghost pipefish. Our guests love to dive with him. Finally he is also able to teach diving to the new comers!
As Abdul was already an excellent divemaster we were sure that he would pass the practical sessions of the course with flying colours. He started studying way in advance for his theory. He took the option to join the IDC preparation course with Dive Desk in Male at the end of April. And in May he immersed himself in his IDC with Blue World Divers on the local island of Dharavandhoo. By the way IDC stands for Instructor Development Course.
Dharavandhoo is just 5 minutes boat ride away from Kihaa Maldives where Abdul works. To take the IDC there gave him a slight edge as he is already at home in the Baa Atoll and probably he could feel the good vibes that we were sending across.
