Dolphins of the Laamu Atoll

Scuba Diving Maldives Ocean Dimensions
As of August 2017, Ocean Dimensions are now diving & snorkelling in the Unesco Biosphere Reserve in the Baa Atoll at Kihaa Maldives – the closest resort to Hanifaru Bay. We hope to see you there!

Six Senses Laamu is located right in the middle of a big channel between the islands of Hithadhoo and Gadhoo. Not daily but on a very regular basis dolphins pass by our island. Usually in the morning they come from the open ocean into the Atoll to rest and in the evening they leave the safety of the Atoll to hunt in the big open ocean. Generally we see 2 kinds of dolphins here, the smaller spinner dolphin and the bigger bottlenose dolphin. While on holiday at Six Senses Laamu your are almost sure to see them either while sitting in the overwater restaurant at breakfast, during sunset on the beach or of course during a snorkel or diving excursion with us. Last week we were 3 times lucky to see dolphins under water, what an incredible unique experience and can you imagine how happy the divers and the dive guides were! We caught this snapshot on camera for you! To have a look at some more photos of what we see during our dives, visit our photo gallery.
