Favourite Dive Site

One of the most frequently asked questions we get is: which one is your most favourite dive site? As we have about 50 different dive spots it is also pretty difficult to give a straight forward answer to this question. You will probably get a different reply from each one of us and the answers can also vary from week to week depending on the season and what we have encountered during our dives. I will give you our favourite dive site for each month starting from August.
Our teams choice for August is UNESCO Thila is a small underwater mountain with walls all around, some big overhangs in the deeper part and a flat top starting at about 15 meters. We recommend to dive with NITROX to be able to extend your dive time and enjoy this dive site just a little longer. Here the cleaner fish live along the wall. The mantas instead of hovering on top of the reef come swimming towards the wall, expose their bellies to the wall so the cleaner fish can get to work. We divers hover on top of the reef to observe this ritual from an unusual angle. Have you seen that before?
And just in case there are no mantas around, UNESCO Thila is still a very pretty reef with black coral bushes, the hiding place for long nose hawk fish, moray eels and lion fish, pretty nudibranchs and flat worms hiding among the colourful coral, napoleon wrasse and jack fish, a scorpion fish waiting in hiding, covered in glass fish in the season which all makes it a place for the advanced diver to put on his wish list.
