PADI Refresher Course

The PADI refresher course has become very popular with many people being unable to travel or scuba dive for the past two years.
If you were a new scuba diver before the pandemic maybe by now you have lost some confidence. If you are an experienced diver perhaps you just want to ease yourself back into diving. Whichever the case a refresher might be just what you need to re-discover your love for diving!
What is involved in the PADI refresher course?
Our PADI refresher course consists of a multi-choice questionnaire (not an exam!) so no need to worry if you don’t remember the answers. One of our instructors will go through it with you and answer any of the questions that you may have.
They will guide you through setting up your gear step by step ending with a buddy check. You are now ready to dive! We do our refresher dives from the shore along our house reef.
We start in shallow water where you will be asked to do some of the basic skills you learned in your open water diver course.
- Removing and clearing your mask underwater.
- At the surface deflate your BCD and drop sufficient weight to become positively buoyant.
- Ascend using an alternate air source.
- Work on your buoyancy, become neutrally buoyant and hover.
Plus of course, any other skills that you would like to practice. Just let your instructor know and they would be happy to go over them with you. For example, maybe you want to practice inflating a surface marker buoy (SMB).
Then depending on how much air you have left, we do a dive on the house reef, to give you a taste of what’s to come!
After that, you can join us on more underwater adventures by boat to see different sites, reefs, and marine life!
