Surfing & Fine Dining at Six Senses Laamu
As of August 2017, Ocean Dimensions are now diving & snorkelling in the Unesco Biosphere Reserve in the Baa Atoll at Kihaa Maldives – the closest resort to Hanifaru Bay. We hope to see you there!
Already for the second time Six Senses Laamu has lured Mikihito Nagai away from his own Restaurant “Miki’s Open Kitchen” in Margaret River, a world famous surfing destination in Australia. Miki’s Open Kitchen was actually closed while he was here with us in the Maldives preparing 3 special dinners for Six Senses Laamu guests at our fine dining Leaf Restaurant. We were lucky to get a table for one of Miki’s dinners and it was amazing. If you live near or visit Margaret River or happen to be here while Miki is at Six Senses Laamu – it is an experience you should not miss!! Miki calls himself both – a chef who surfs and a surfer who is a chef – and therefor his choices of were he prepares his delicious dishes are quiet clever! Six Senses Laamu with the famous Yin Yang break were most days you are the only surfer and Margaret River were annual World Surfing Competitions are held, were surfing legends like Kelly Slater are taking part. His wife is a body boarder and his young son Kona already has his own tiny little wetsuit. Konas‘ destiny might be the same as his fathers’ – a chef in a wetsuit! Miki is planning to come back to Six Senses Laamu again – keep an eye out for it!!
