Surfing in Laamu

season starting soon

Maldives Surfing Season 2016

Ocean Dimensions Maldives
As of August 2017, Ocean Dimensions are now diving & snorkelling in the Unesco Biosphere Reserve in the Baa Atoll at Kihaa Maldives – the closest resort to Hanifaru Bay. We hope to see you there!

Our surf coaches can’t wait for the Maldives surfing season 2016 to start. They bought brand new surfboards, they have new leashes and some spare fins, they kept up with their fitness and swim training and are now waiting for End of March for the wind direction to change and the swell to come up. Maldives has the perfect conditions with 29 degrees water temperature all year around and it is not rare to spot a turtle, a ray or even dolphins during a session. What is special in the Laamu Atoll is that apart from very few safari boats that come all the way to the South, we are the only resort in the area and have Yin Yang, a famous wave in the Maldives, all to ourselves – most of the time! This wave is only 10 minutes boat ride away from the Six Senses Laamu Resort and we take you there for morning and afternoon sessions. Check out the website Magic Seaweed for an update on the conditions at Yin Yang. To reach our beginner training wave no boat trip is required, together with your coach you paddle out there for a 1 or 2 hour lesson. As a beginner or advanced surfer, you will have a good time. If you have any questions about the surf trips or lessons, drop us a line and sent us a mail
