Coral Reef Life Presentation

Curious about what lives below the surface of the ocean – join us every Wednesday evening at 21:30 in the bar for our Coral Reef Life Presentation.

We changed from our “Introduction to the Mantas at Hanifaru Bay” presentation to this new one as there is so much more out here to discover in the Biosphere of the Baa Atoll.

We start with an illustration that shows what a coral is made of. Corals are the home of many fish families and offer protection and food to their inhabitants.

Did you know that not all clown fish look like Nemo? Worldwide there are more than 30 different kind of anemone fish. Butterfly fish are very romantic and pair for life. Scorpion fish can’t swim but they can walk. Octopus change colour and texture and can squeeze into the tiniest hole. A big moray eel can weigh up to 30 kg. Sharks predate dinosaurs. Learn this and many more fish facts during our presentation.

In April when the manta season starts again we will continue with our “Introduction to the Mantas at Hanifaru Bay” presentation.
