White, blue, orange, black

frog fish come in many colours

Win a free dive

Here is a challenge for you: find us a frog fish and win a free dive !!

We are now diving the many new dive sites in the Baa Atoll for 2 months and we are amazed at what we find on every dive in the first and only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of the Maldives. OK, it is still manta season and we are looking up or out in the blue a lot of the time but we also search the reef for little critters and we find plenty from mantis shrimp to octopus, stone fish, scorpion fish, pretty nudibranchs and porcelain crab but we still have not found a frog fish. Frog fish come in many colours red, orange, yellow, blue, white and they are masters of camouflage, hence we are staring our eyes out but can’t find one. Here are some hints for a spotting frog fish: look for unusual shapes, frog fish love sponges but I have also seen them sitting in a bush of black coral. Look for little movements like the opening and closing of the gills. Check out the image gallery on Ocean Dimensions website to see another image of a frog fish and many more beautiful underwater pictures. Good luck to all the spotters – ah, and one more rule, of course you have to show the frog fish to your guide to win a free dive.
